15/07 to 16/07 – Punta Arenas Winter Carnival
Every year in July, Punta Arenas hosts the Winter Carnival! Floats and bands parade through the city centre, and this popular festival brings together a whole host of events, including the election of the queen, a music festival and various art exhibitions. To round off the event, magnificent fireworks illuminate the night on the banks of the Strait of Magellan.

From 20/07 to 31/07 – Guanajuato International Film Festival / GIFF
The Guanajuato International Film Festival in Mexico is a major film event celebrating its 26th anniversary this year. It features an official selection of Mexican and international films, workshops, conferences, tributes to leading figures in the film industry and much more. It’s a unique opportunity to discover the best of world cinema in one of Mexico’s most beautiful cities.

ARGENTINA
21-22/07 – National Tango Festival – La Falda, Cordoba
From 21 to 22 July, the town of La Falda in the Cordoba region will be hosting the 39th edition of the National Tango Festival. This emblematic event in Argentina’s cultural calendar transforms the town into a veritable tango capital. The festivities include dance workshops and street milongas, where dancers gather to dance in public spaces. The festival also features book and record presentations, art exhibitions, plays and much more. Gala evenings will feature some of Argentina’s finest tango artists.

ECUADOR
22/07 – Paseo Procesional del Chagra
The Paseo Procesional del Chagra is a traditional Ecuadorian festival held every July in Machachi. This event, which celebrates Andean culture, features the “chagras“, the Andean cowboys, who parade through the streets on their horses, dressed in traditional costumes. This celebration, which has been declared Ecuador’s Intangible Cultural Heritage, is accompanied by folk concerts and a gastronomic fair, among other things. It’s a real invitation to discover Andean culture.
