Discover the key moments of WTM London 2023
The World Travel Market (WTM) in London is considered to be the world’s most influential event for the tourism sector. With more than 38,000 participants, 184 countries represented and 3,500 exhibitors at the previous edition in 2022, it is a must-attend event.
For 2023, the organisation has scheduled more than 60 conferences with renowned speakers and seminars. These conferences aim to strengthen the global travel community, reminding them that they have the “Power to Change” the tourism sector.
The event, to be held at ExCeL London from 6-8 November, will feature eight new themes across three stages. These themes will cover topics such as sustainability, technology, geo-economics, emerging markets, consumer trends, marketing, diversity and inclusion, and experience. The aim of these sessions is to inform, entertain and influence the professional decisions of those involved in the sector.
The WTM London 2023 conference programme is rich and varied, and will take place over three days, from 6 to 8 November. Here’s an overview of the highlights:
6 November :
Ministerial Summit: In association with the UNWTO and the WTTC, this summit, now in its 17th year, will bring together state representatives from around the world to discuss and ratify key tourism agreements. This year, the Summit will take place on the first day of the WTM, marking its growing importance to the global tourism industry.
WTM Presents…A Global Travel Outlook: Presentation of the new WTM Global Travel Outlook report, supported by renowned researchers Oxford Economics. This conference is expected to provide valuable insights into the trends shaping the future of travel.
7 November:
Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Summit: This summit will address the importance of diversity within travel companies and inclusivity in the development of leisure travel strategies.
Technology Summit: Sessions will cover topics such as building cities for smart tourism, the future of technology and the opportunities offered by AI in the travel sector.
8 November:
Marketing Summit: Sessions will cover topics such as storytelling, engaging with influencers and the use of data. They will also cover the future of marketing and specific digital tools in the travel segment.
Sustainability Summit: This summit will address the many challenges facing sustainability in the travel industry. Among the must-see sessions, “Where Next? Reimagining Tourism” will explore tourism in the face of growing climate and biodiversity challenges.
In addition, WTM London 2023 will be closed by a keynote speaker, whose identity will be revealed shortly.
