Air France Launches New Services to Salvador de Bahia for Winter 2024
Air France continues to expand its network to Latin America by announcing the opening of new routes to Salvador de Bahia, the former capital of Brazil, from 28 October 2024. This initiative marks the airline’s strong commitment to strengthening its services in Brazil and offering its customers more travel opportunities.
A new destination: Salvador de Bahia
Salvador de Bahia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an emblematic Brazilian destination renowned for its rich cultural and historical heritage. The city, which was the country’s first capital, is famous for its colonial architecture, musical traditions and colourful festivals. Air France is responding to growing demand by adding this city to its network, making it the fifth destination served in Brazil after Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Fortaleza and Bélem.

Details of the new routes
From 28 October 2024, Air France will operate three flights a week to Salvador de Bahia, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. These flights will be operated by Airbus A350-900s, modern aircraft equipped to offer maximum passenger comfort. The aircraft has 324 seats, including 34 in the Business cabin, 24 in Premium Economy and 266 in Economy, guaranteeing a pleasant travel experience for all types of traveller.
An opportunity for the tourism sector
The opening of this new route is excellent news for Salvador de Bahia’s tourism sector. The city, with its unique charm and numerous attractions, is expected to attract a large number of international visitors. This initiative is part of a wider strategy to promote tourist destinations in Brazil and strengthen cultural and economic exchanges between the two countries.
A stronger network in Brazil thanks to GOL
Thanks to its commercial partnership with the Brazilian airline GOL, the Air France-KLM Group offers its customers connections to 45 domestic destinations in Brazil. This partnership enables passengers to benefit from extended connectivity and facilitates their travel within the country.

The opening of flights to Salvador de Bahia marks a new stage in Air France’s expansion strategy in Latin America, which will bring the number of weekly flights to and from Brazil to 30 for the 2024 winter season.
